Ma’ot Chitin – Passover Charity Fund

Ma’ot Chitin is the annual Passover fund that helps our less fortunate brethren celebrate Passover with joy and respect. To perform this Tzedaka that has been practiced by Jewish communities around the world for centuries, please donate online or write a check out to Congregation Beth Israel, and write “Ma’ot Chitin” in the memo line.

Shabbat HaGadol 5774 Meals – RSVP

This year, Pesach begins on a Monday night. To make your preparations easier, we are offering meals at the shul on Shabbat HaGadol, April 11 and 12, so you can clean your kitchen and start your Pesach cooking before the weekend!

We will be serving a Friday night dinner, Shabbat lunch, and offering a Family Se’udah Shlishit on Shabbat afternoon.

Cost for Friday dinner: $16/adult, $8/ages 5-13, $54/family max

There is no charge for Shabbat lunch, but we’d like to get an accurate head count for food preparation purposes.

Please note that if you do not register in advance, we will unfortunately be unable to accommodate you at the meals.

Matanos l’evyonim can be fulfilled through Rabbi Rabinowitz who will have the money distributed on Purim day. Your donation must be in by 5pm on Purim day 3/16. You can do so in the following ways:

  • Give money or check to the Rabbi before or on Purim,
  • Send your donation by mail to the shul in time to arrive before Purim,
  • Donate Online
  • Pledge over the phone at (781) 322-5686.

Donate for a chance to own a beautiful Megillah Scroll

Megillah Raffle 5774

Every $50 pledge is another opportunity to acquire your own Megillah Scroll (appraised at $1000 retail value). If this campaign raises $1800, the proceeds of which will go towards paying for the construction costs of Malden’s new mikvah, Congregation Beth Israel of Malden will randomly select a donor to win the megillah on Motzei Shabbat, Shabbat HaGadol, April 12th, 2014.
