European Jewry: What Was, What Is, and What May Be

European Presentation

On Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 10:00 am, join us for a brunch followed by a presentation given by Dr. Daniel Bitran, Professor of Psychology, about his experiences during the three weeks he spent traveling through the Czech Republic, Poland, and Lithuania.

“For 21 days, I travelled through Central Europe visiting cities that were once renowned for their Jewish population. With a colleague who is an expert in Holocaust education, we offered this course that was taken by eight students from our college. From Prague in the Czech Republic, to Krakow, Lodz, and Warsaw in Poland, to Vilnius and Kaunas in Lithuania, we learned a great deal of the former vibrant Jewish communities, of the struggles that are evident in how to properly commemorate the Shoah, and of the remnants of European Jewry. I would like to share my experiences with you in hopes of coming to some understanding of the future of European Jewry.”.

RSVP by July 30.
