Tisha B’Av Schedule
After Shabbat ends, remove your shoes. If you’re still in shul, you may slip them off after Barechu (avoid touching them so you don’t need to wash your hands) and continue davening in socks. Alternatively, say Baruch Hamavdil ben kodesh l’chol and change into Tisha B’Av footwear. If you touch your shoes, wash your hands up to the knuckles. If you’re home when Shabbat ends, first say Baruch Hamavdil ben kodesh l’chol, then remove your shoes.
We delay full Havdalah until after Tisha B’Av on Sunday night. However, we do recite Borei Me’orei Ha’aish on Saturday night, after Maariv and before Eicha in shul. Those not attending Ma’ariv should say Baruch Hamavdil ben kodesh l’chol before beginning any weekday or Tisha B’Av activities.
