Any chametz owned by a Jew during Passover week is forbidden for actual use forever. If there is chametz that you do not want to dispose of (e.g. bottle of shnapps), you must arrange for a formal sale of chametz to a non-Jew that will go into effect before Passover. Rabbi Rabinowitz is available to arrange for this important contract following weekday morning and evening services, or by appointment. Please call him at (781) 322-5686 or (781) 322-5191.
If you cannot take care of this in person, you may fill out, sign, and return the contract that is included here. Whichever you use , you will need to write your name and address legibly and give an approximate total value of the chametz items you are selling. When doing so focus on the value of items that we conventionally refer to as real chametz, i.e. breads, pasta, cereals, cakes, cookies, oatmeal etc.
Forms must be submitted to the shul by Friday, April 11, 2014. If you will miss this deadline please call the rabbi no later than 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014 at (781) 223-1471 and leave a message with all the information mentioned above (do not leave the message on the shul phone).
Store away and seal off all of the chametz to be sold in one or more designated areas.
Please make out all contributions for the sale of chametz to the rabbi for his services.
