Before doing any of these you must recite Maariv with the Havdalah found in the Maariv Amidah or say, “Baruch hamavdil bein kodesh l’kodesh.” Light candles from an existing flame.
Remember to place a new fruit (one that has not been eaten in the past year) on the table before Kiddush for the blessing of Shehechiyanu.
Remember to insert the Havdalah blessings of Borei me’orai ha’aish and Hamavdil bein kodesh l’chol into Kiddush, which you can find in a Rosh Hashanah Machzor (in the Artscroll P. 82).
