Wednesday, October 1 – Erev Yom Kippur

  • 06:40 am – Selichot
  • 06:50 am – Shacharit
  • 02:30 pm – Mincha
  • There will be no later minyan for mincha
  • 06:07 pm – Candle lighting
  • For those unable to light at home, candles will be available at the Shul. We are not permitted to light candles after 6:25 pm
  • 06:10 pm – Kol Nidre
  • 06:25 pm – Yom Kippur begins
  • There is a mitzvah of Tosefet Yom HaKippurim – adding on to Yom Kippur. This means to accept the sanctity and observances of Yom Kippur before it starts. Women fulfill this when they take in Yom Kippur by candle lighting. Men should fulfill this by stating or having in mind at least two minutes before sunset that they accept upon themselves the sanctity of Yom Kippur.
