Before doing any of these you must recite Ma’ariv with the Havdalah found in the Ma’ariv Amidah or say, “Baruch hamavdil bein kodesh l’kodesh.” Light candles from an existing flame.
Remember to insert the Havdalah blessings of Borei me’orai ha’aish and Hamavdil bein kodesh l’chol into Kiddush, which you can find in a siddur or Machzor.
