Pre-Pesach Webinar with the KVH

Sunday, March 29, 8:30 PM

Pesach in our community has always been a special time but also a time when we seek guidance on both halachic and practical matters surrounding this special holiday.

During this trying time, many are seeking guidance on standard Pesach questions as well as issues that are not usually applicable.
Many are celebrating Pesach at home for the first time, compounding the challenges.

KVH traditionally held workshops hosted at various community shuls, including Cong. Beth Israel of Malden, Cong. Kadimah Toras Moshe, & Young Israel of Sharon to address a myriad of Pesach questions.

Due to the global challenge we find ourselves in, that is not a possibility this year.

But that will not stop KVH Kosher from assisting our communities remotely.

Please join us on Sunday 4 Nissan 5780- March 29, 2020 at 8:30 PM for our first (but not last) Pre-Pesach webinar.

We will address common Pesach questions such as:

Products:

  • Which products are approved without any certification? Which are approved without special Pesach certification? Which require special Pesach certification?
  • If I purchased meat from a local butcher without Pesach certification, can I use it on Pesach?
  • Why would milk & cheese require Pesach certification? Can I sue it without pesach certification?
  • Why are some decaffeinated coffees recommended, while others are not?
  • and much more

Kashering:

  • HELP, it’s my first time making Pesach. How do I kasher my home? (Expert tip: Don’t focus on kashering your home and lets just stick to the areas of the kitchen that require kashering 🙂) We will walk you through kashering your kitchen step by step with video guides available.
  • Glass-top stoves, induction burners,
  • and much more

Special COVID-19 Pesach Questions:

  • Will there be a communal Kashering?
  • “My mikvah is closed” “I’m in quarantine” How to deal with Tevilas Keilim (ritual immersion of dishes, flatware & kitchen utensils when a mikvah is not available.
  • Bi’ur chametz: How should I do bi’ur chametz if a safe communal fire is not available?

Q&A: Please submit questions in advance to askkvh@kvhkosher.org
We will accept questions via YouTube comments, time permitting, but priority will be given to questions submitted via email in advance.

Looking forward to you joining us! Pre-Pesach webinar.

Sincerely,
