The First Day of School after Last Friday
Today is the first day of school for our children and children throughout the country following the terrible tragedy that took place in Newtown, Ct. last Friday .
When they come home with G-d’s help and walk through the door let’s think, “Thank you Hashem for sending my precious child home to me today.”
The pain we feel for the loss of so many innocent lives, for the sorrow of their bereaved families and friends, and for the suffering of those who lived through it, should give new meaning to the words we say in the Evening Service: “Safeguard our going and coming-for life and peace from now to eternity.”
May Hashem grant comfort and strength to all who have been affected by this calamity and may we all, with Hashem’s grace, share simchot together.
